YAKIMA, Washington (January 18, 2010), The Yakima Valley Warriors of the American Indoor Football Association have signed Drew Coplin of Puyallup Washington. Coplin a 6’6” Wide Receiver played college at Evangel University. At Evangel he played in 32 games career, compiling 53 receptions for 616 yards and averaging 11.6 yards per catch.”We are extremely excited to have Drew as a Warrior, “said owner Michael Mink. “He is the Type of player we are looking for in Yakima, great character, solid athletic ability and wants to improve everyday. If you don’t want to chop wood and help build this foundation in Yakima Valley you’re just not for us,” said Mink.
Professionally Coplin has 14 games AIFA experience. Also was an MVP in the Premier Division of the British American Football League. With his size, Coplin can be a physical mismatch in short yardage & jump ball situations for opposing defensive backs. Drew will help a great deal with this ballclub in the red zone and with his ability to be coached he will succeed, “said Head Coach Lance Brown. “We have been getting a lot of calls about signing players and we are doing at our pace as we want to make sure we get the players that are good for Yakima Valley,“ said Brown.
"We are here to build a program over the next 3 years and produce championship teams for this city," Said Brown. "Mr. Mink wants a team be built properly and players from the area getting a shot early to prove they can make the grade,“ said Brown
